AEW Dynamite shocks fans with Hangman Page burning Swerve Strickland’s childhood home in planned storyline
A recent episode of AEW Dynamite featured a shocking scene where wrestler Hangman Page was shown sitting in front of Swerve Strickland’s burning childhood home. This planned storyline had been in the works for months and was executed with professional supervision to ensure safety. The house used in the segment was the same one shown earlier in the episode when Strickland discussed his childhood.
The angle was part of a larger narrative that included Strickland signing a new contract on camera at a previous event. This was done to establish that Strickland had bought back his childhood home as part of the story. Many AEW stars were unaware of the plan and even congratulated Strickland on purchasing his childhood home, not knowing it was part of the storyline.
The segment has received praise from fans and within AEW. Despite the dramatic nature of the scene, the company has a storyline explanation prepared for why Hangman Page will be participating in the main event of an upcoming show instead of facing legal consequences for the arson depicted in the segment.
