AEW Dynamite sees slight viewership dip but remains top-rated cable show despite 20% year-over-year decline
The latest episode of AEW Dynamite, following a successful week in the UK, saw a slight dip in viewership. The August 28 show averaged 691,000 viewers, down from 698,000 the previous week. While this is an improvement from recent months when the show competed with the Olympics, it represents a significant decrease of over 20% compared to the same period last year.
Despite the overall decline, the show had its highest viewership during the first quarter-hour with 765,000 viewers. There were also spikes in viewership during Ricochet’s match and Bryan Danielson’s closing promo. In terms of the key 18-49 demographic, the show earned a 0.22 rating, down 8% from the previous week. However, this was still enough for Dynamite to rank first among all prime time cable shows that night, outperforming popular programs on FOX News and MTV.
