Active WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio Inducted into Hall of Fame in Surprising Move
Rey Mysterio, a legendary wrestler still active in the ring, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 31, 2023, in Los Angeles, California. This rare honor for an active wrestler came as a surprise to Mysterio, who initially thought he was being asked to retire. However, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H clarified that they wanted to recognize Mysterio’s 35-year career while he was still performing, especially in his home state.
The induction holds special significance for Mysterio, who hails from Chula Vista, just two hours south of Los Angeles. California played a crucial role in his early career, where he wrestled in Hollywood bars. Now, as part of the WWE Raw brand, Mysterio continues to perform alongside his son Dominik. Despite their on-screen rivalry, Rey expresses pride in seeing the Mysterio name carried forward, hoping it will endure for generations to come in the world of professional wrestling.
